Nick Di Palo

Senior Planning Associate

As a Senior Planning Associate, Nick plays a key role in strengthening client relationships and supporting the delivery of comprehensive financial planning. As an integral part of your advisory team, he conducts in-depth client interviews to gather financial data and clarify planning goals, contributing to strategies across investment, tax, retirement, estate planning, executive compensation, risk management, and education funding.

In addition to helping clients implement their financial plans, Nick participates actively in client meetings, providing documentation and follow-up support to support continuity and clarity. He reviews investment allocation reports, collaborates with the client service team to monitor service activities, and researches planning strategies and potential tax law changes to keep clients’ financial plans current.

Beyond client-facing responsibilities, Nick contributes to internal initiatives such as onboarding new team members and supporting broader wealth management projects. With a collaborative mindset and strong attention to detail, he helps support Modera’s comprehensive planning process.

What sparked your interest in financial planning? What fuels you every day in your work?

I discovered the impact of financial planning through a series of internship experiences. Through these experiences, I found the Fee-Only model to be the approach that best aligns with my values and perspective on client-centered financial planning. I am motivated by the opportunity to continuously learn and stay up to date with current financial planning topics while applying them to client situations.

How do you feel you help to create impact for clients?

I am committed to understanding each individual’s financial situation and developing personalized plans designed to reduce financial stress. I enjoy analyzing potential tax implications and identifying planning opportunities to help clients navigate tax complexities. Through planning, I aim to deliver information around personal finances, allowing clients to stay focused on the aspects of life that matter most to them.

What do you enjoy most about working at Modera?

I enjoy the collaborative and supportive environment where teamwork and shared knowledge are central to success. Being surrounded by supportive professionals encourages continuous learning and thoughtful collaboration, which helps support the quality of advice delivered to clients.

How do you do good in your community?

I grew up playing competitive soccer, an experience that shaped my teamwork, discipline, and sense of community. The positive relationships I built and the lessons I learned had a lasting impact on me, both personally and professionally. Today, I am passionate about giving back by volunteering as a youth soccer coach, where I strive to create the same supportive, confidence building environment for the next generation of players.
