As a Planning Associate, Lee supports the advisory team in a variety of client service and planning activities. Responsibilities include preparing for client meetings, assisting with the onboarding of new assets, drafting Investment Policy Statements, and maintaining communication with clients and their professional contacts.
Lee participates in client meetings and assists with documenting and coordinating follow-up items. Additional responsibilities include contributing to the development of financial plans, gathering information from clients, and monitoring planning strategies and tax law developments relevant to client needs. Working alongside the client service team, he manages multiple projects and administrative tasks within a fast-paced environment, applying organizational skills and attention to detail to support ongoing client and team initiatives.
When you’re not working you’re…?
My small family and I enjoy doing anything that will keep us active. I have a wife, a young son, and a dog so some of our favorite activities are going on walks, hiking the local trails with our son in a backpack carrier, and tennis when the weather is nice. We also love going on road trips and exploring places we have never been.
Where did you grow up? Where do you live now?
I grew up in Tallahassee, FL where I also went to college at Florida State University. My wife and I got married in March 2020 in Tallahassee. When the pandemic hit, we decided to make a change and move to Black Mountain to work at the summer camp where we met. That got us into the greater Asheville area and we have lived here ever since.
What’s a destination in the world that you aspire to visit?
I grew up skiing in Colorado and Utah as a kid, so I have always wanted to go skiing somewhere overseas. Switzerland is at the top of my bucket list and since our last big trip was a “babymoon” to England when my wife was expecting, our next trip will be a ski trip somewhere exotic.
How do you caffeinate?
I prefer to have a black coffee in the morning from a preset coffee machine to cut down on effort early in the morning. If I want something fancier with a little more effort, I will make myself a flat white with our espresso machine. If the afternoon slump is hitting me particularly hard, I’ll make myself a matcha latte to push me through to the end of the day.
