Kirsten Ly is a creative and strategic executive with more than 25 years of B2C and B2B marketing and communications experience. At Modera, Kirsten leads a team of marketing professionals who support the firm’s corporate marketing, business development, public relations and client experience initiatives, in alignment with the firm’s growth goals and strategies.
Kirsten is experienced in developing brand stories and messaging, marketing campaigns, programs, and materials focused on go-to-market planning and business growth for wealth management, technology, and professional services firms. Prior to joining Modera, Kirsten directed advisor growth marketing for one of the country’s largest wealth management firms, developing scalable marketing programs to drive organic growth for the firm’s 140 advisory businesses.
Outside of Modera, Kirsten is a member of the Community Foundation of Northern Virginia, Financial Narrative, the American Marketing Association, and Absolute Engagement’s Experience Innovation Board.
When you’re not working, you’re…?
Spending time with my family, listening to a podcast while walking my dogs, or reading (usually more than one book at a time).
When you retire you’re going to…?
Travel! I put that on the backburner while my kids were growing up and busy with sports and other activities. Now that my youngest is in high school, I’m looking forward to the day when my husband and I can explore some of the places on our bucket lists.
Where did you grow up? Where do you live now?
I am a native Virginian. I grew up in Alexandria, Virginia, right outside of Washington, DC. I now live about 40 miles west of DC (outside the beltway), in a region known for its golf courses, vineyards and horse farms. We moved out here when my kids were young, and it was a little slower paced than it is now.
How do you caffeinate?
If I’m working from home, I’ll drink coffee all day, every day. But I’m also partial to iced tea.
