What do you value most in your client relationships?

First and foremost, I value trust in a client relationship. I want to trust that the client is being honest and forthcoming with me, and I want them to trust that I have genuine care and desire to help accomplish whatever goals they have set for themselves and/or their family. The special part about financial planning is that we get to build genuine relationships with our clients and help them navigate life’s ups and downs while feeling safe and secure financially. The best and most effective way to be able to truly help is for both sides to reciprocate that trust with each other and communicate effectively.

What do you feel is a strength that you have?

I believe a strength I have is the ability to make people feel heard. I believe that I am an intentional listener that cares about what people have to say, and I think that people can pick up on that and know that I’m listening with the intent to learn about them. As I learn more about someone, I can care for them that much better because I know more about their situation and where they’re coming from.

What do you enjoy most about working at Modera?

No brainer – the people. There is a palpable difference in going to work every day when the people you work with enjoy their jobs and care about the work they do. The willingness to help each other and lift peers up, instead of stepping on one another for advancement and recognition, is not something you can just find anywhere. It is a culture cultivated from within, created and reinforced by hiring like-minded individuals whose primary concern is the client’s wellbeing.

Where did you grow up? Where do you live now?

I was born and raised in Shelby, NC. I currently reside in Charlotte, NC in the Dilworth area.
