Kelly has a passion for educating and empowering individuals to help make sound financial decisions. She has a particular interest in working with women investors. Kelly knows that each client’s situation is unique and strives to provide the individual care and attention they deserve. By listening to her clients and understanding both their financial and their life goals, Kelly can partner with them to develop the appropriate financial plans and investment strategies to help keep those goals within reach.
Kelly joined the firm full-time in June 2009. She has held a number of roles over the years including a Client Service Specialist, Financial Analyst, Financial Advisor and Senior Financial Advisor.
Kelly earned a B.S. in Economics and Business from Lafayette College and was named a Marquis Scholar, the College’s highest academic honor. Kelly earned her Master of Science in Financial Services (MSFS) from the American College of Financial Services. She is a member of National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) and is a Certified Financial Planner® professional. Kelly serves as the Advisory Manager for three Modera offices providing support for the advisory team and promoting Modera’s presence in our community.
Outside of Modera, Kelly enjoys spending time with her family, trying new restaurants, and traveling to new places. She is an active volunteer at her children’s school and Girl Scout troop.
What sparked your interest in financial planning? What fuels you every day in your work?
My interest was purely accidental. When I started interning here in 2008, I had minimal exposure to financial planning. Seeing the effect on individuals and families when they receive financial planning advice is so rewarding. Knowing I can be a small part of helping someone feel comfortable in retirement or planning for their family’s future drives me every day.
What’s the one thing people say you’re best at?
I am a very deliberate person. I take the time to research and understand as many angles and opinions as possible before I make a final decision. I try to help clients do the same when they face significant financial decisions that require time and research to make sure they have everything they need in order to make the choice that’s best for them.
What do you enjoy most about working at Modera?
It’s like a second family. Everyone asks how you are and genuinely cares about you. My colleagues are always willing to lend a hand if I need help with something or am out of the office.
When you retire you’re going to…?
Travel the world. I love to visit new places and experience new cultures. I enjoy the excitement of walking into an ancient castle or trying a new exotic food.
