As a Senior Planning Associate, Gabriela plays a key role in strengthening client relationships and supporting the delivery of comprehensive financial planning. As an integral part of your advisory team, she conducts in-depth client interviews to gather financial data and clarify planning goals, contributing to strategies across investment, tax, retirement, estate planning, executive compensation, risk management, and education funding.
In addition to helping clients implement their financial plans, Gabriela participates actively in client meetings, providing documentation and follow-up support to ensure continuity and clarity. She reviews investment allocation reports, collaborates with the client service team to monitor service activities, and researches planning strategies and potential tax law changes to enhance client outcomes.
Beyond client-facing responsibilities, she contributes to internal initiatives such as onboarding new team members and supporting broader wealth management projects. With a collaborative mindset and strong attention to detail, she helps ensure Modera’s planning process remains thorough, personalized, and forward-thinking.
What do you value most in your client relationships?
I love when clients truly trust the process and actively engage in their financial journey. The best results always come from a close partnership built on open, honest communication. When people get excited and involved, we easily turn stressful money choices into clear, confident steps. I absolutely love creating that positive momentum and celebrating those big life milestones together.
What sparked your interest in financial planning? What fuels you every day in your work?
Moving to a new country at 14 years old taught me firsthand the complexities of adapting to a new culture, language, and financial system. Growing up during that transition, managing our resources wisely was a central focus for our family. Through smart budgeting, open communication, and incredible teamwork, we successfully built a secure life and a strong foundation here.
This experience shaped my belief that true financial planning requires deep openness about your dreams, clear honesty about where you are today, and a realistic roadmap to get there. As a lifelong planner, my daily fuel comes from helping navigate life’s changing tides and ensuring that clients have the reliable support they need to help reach their goals.
What do you enjoy most about working at Modera?
The culture here perfectly mirrors the company’s core values, which was obvious to me right from the start. Everyone on the team is genuinely kind, helpful, and deeply caring about both their work and each other. Because I share those very same values in my own life, it feels wonderful to be part of an environment that aligns so closely with who I am.
When you retire you’re going to…?
Head straight to Hawaii, my absolute favorite place in the world. The goal is to live like a local, fully enjoy everything the islands have to offer, and help look after them, too. I want to spend my days experiencing the island lifestyle while doing my part to save and preserve the incredible marine life and wildlife that make the islands so special.
