Chad has nearly two decades of experience in the wealth management industry, having worked exclusively with independent financial planning firms his entire career. Over the years, he has held a variety of roles, including client service, investment research, and lead advisor, all of which have given him a well-rounded perspective on the financial planning process.
While he has experience working with many different types of clients, Chad has a background in working with two specific client groups: federal employees and individuals navigating divorce. While working with planning firms in the Washington, D.C. area, he developed a solid understanding of the unique benefits and financial structures available to federal employees. Additionally, he is particularly passionate about supporting clients through divorce transitions. Recognizing that financial advice often comes too late in these situations, Chad aims to be involved early, helping clients understand both the short- and long-term implications of their decisions and guiding them confidently through the next phase of their financial lives.
Chad received a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from Loyola University, Maryland. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional, Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, and Chartered Federal Employee Benefits Consultant.
Chad lives in the Asheville area where he enjoys spending time with his family. He also has an interest in biking, either on roads or through the woods. When he is not on his bike, Chad can usually be found in his car driving his children to and from their various sporting events around town.
What do you value most in your client relationships?
I value the opportunity to partner with my clients and forging deep bonds with them, based on mutual respect and trust.
What sparked your interest in financial planning? What fuels you every day in your work?
When I was younger, I witnessed my parents had a bad experience with a “financial planner.” I was old enough to understand what happened to make the experience less than desirable and I was inspired to learn more about the profession. I am fueled by the determination I have to create positive and lasting relationships with my clients.
How do you feel you help to create impact for clients?
I make certain my clients know that I am available for them, to discuss anything and help them work through major decisions that could impact their financial lives. I am often the person they call when the need a sounding board.
What do you enjoy most about working at Modera?
I enjoy the collaborative atmosphere- the sharing of resources and ideas that happens across the company. We are a large team of closely connected people with the same mission of doing the best for our clients.
When you retire you’re going to…?
When I retire I am hoping to spend most of the day riding my bike with the other bikers and friends from my neighborhood. We have a great group and enjoy our shared love of biking.
Where did you grow up? Where do you live now?
I grew up in a small New England town in MA and now live in Asheville, NC with my family
