What do you value most in your client relationships?
The trusting relationships that we patiently build with our client families – trust that then allows us to help them make sound financial decisions for their families.
What sparked your interest in financial planning?
When I realized I could use my knowledge of finance and investing to help families have peace of mind in this important area of their lives.
What do you enjoy most about working at Modera?
The client relationships I have been so lucky to develop and the camaraderie and community that my colleagues have created at the firm – it’s a special place to work.
Where did you grow up? Where do you live now?
I grew up in small rural town called Lismore in county Waterford in Ireland. I served gas in my Mom and Dad’s (Joan and Con) gas station from the age of 10, and it was just a great place to grow up. Having lived in Luxembourg and then New York City, my wife Johnita and I settled in Atlanta, Georgia in 2003 to be closer to her parents, and Atlanta is where we have raised our two children.
How do you do good in your community?
Since my daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 6, I have been very involved in the local Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Chapter Board, and in particular, helping to grow Team Georgia and South Carolina’s JDRF Ride Team to raise funds to find a cure for this disease. The friendships I have made within the JDRF community will last a lifetime.
