A lifelong Asheville resident, Travis is still “growing up” in his birthplace, while continuing to learn about and help improve the community every day. Alongside his wife, his hobbies include “keeping two young boys alive.” Occasionally, Travis finds a moment to sneak in a round of golf or a game of basketball with friends.
How do you feel you help to create impact for clients?
Helping clients through tough personal moments in their lives. We often have to guide clients through estate planning and other end-of-life financial decisions to make certain their wishes are honored and their beneficiaries are taken care of. Helping clients prepare their estate means helping them toward a level of calmness they need to enjoy their time with their loved ones.
How do you do good in your community?
As our careers have advanced, my wife and I have enjoyed scaling up our charitable gifts so that our community benefits alongside us. Our relationship with the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina has given us a great way to help facilitate those growing gifts and to learn about the outstanding work that local non-profits do throughout the area.
When you retire you’re going to…?
Retirement is a long way off so I imagine it will involve occasional vacations to the moon and collecting flying cars…? Or hopefully, if I stick to my own advice, I can retire early before all of that happens and I can just work on my abysmal golf game.
Where did you grow up?
I was born in Asheville, and I like to think that I am still growing by learning and improving myself each day, so you could say that I am still growing up in Asheville.
