Meredith Otterbein serves as a Regional Director on the Advisory Leadership team. In this role, she works closely with local office leaders to drive growth, support advisory teams in expanding their business and professional development, and to strengthen Modera’s presence in the community. Additionally, she assists the Advisory and Wealth Management Leadership teams in coordinating and implementing firm-wide projects. Meredith has over 20 years of experience in the wealth management industry. Prior to joining Modera Wealth Management in 2024, she held various senior positions in the wealth management division at UBS Financial Services, Inc. Meredith received a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Fordham University and a Master of Business Administration in finance from Seton Hall University. She holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional designation.
What sparked your interest in financial planning? What fuels you every day in your work?
Financial planning looks at and addresses all aspects of your life. It sets a plan, gives you peace of mind and helps to ensure you can live the life you want now and in the future. As the world gets more unpredictable and life gets more complex, a well-strategized financial plan can guide you through.
What has been a particularly rewarding moment in your career?
Watching people who worked for me, who I have had the opportunity to lead and manage, grow to find their own way both professionally and personally.
What’s the best career advice you ever got?
I have been fortunate to have had strong mentors and advocates throughout my career, so it is hard to pick the best career advice. The one piece of advice I received early in my career that I make sure I pass on to others, is to not be afraid to ask questions. Most people are willing to take the time to help because it benefits everyone in the long run.
