What fuels you every day in your work?
Turning ambiguity into clarity is fundamental to communications within financial services and it makes for interesting new challenges each day. I get a kick out of all the surprises.
How do you feel you help to create impact for clients?
Making sure clients understand certain fundamentals about money and their relationships to it helps prepare clients to receive the thoughtful advice our advisors and planners craft for them. I’m always looking for how content can give clients a taste for a topic that makes them want to learn much more one-on-one from our professionals.
What’s the best career advice you ever got?
“Listen more, talk less.” All the best senior leaders I’ve worked with ask great questions and listen carefully to actually understand, not just to respond. Listening and understanding has led me to better decisions and better relationships.
What’s a destination in the world that you aspire to visit?
I’ve always wanted to visit Patagonia because I envision it feeling completely remote from everyday life, something I loved about Iceland and parts of Alaska. And I hear it has amazing hiking!
