Jeff Brewer serves as a Regional Director on the Advisory Leadership team, based in the Charlotte, NC office. In this role, he works closely with local office leaders to drive growth, support advisory teams in expanding their business and professional development, and to strengthen Modera’s presence in the community. Additionally, he assists the Advisory and Wealth Management Leadership teams in coordinating and implementing firm-wide projects.
With over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry, Jeff has extensive experience in sales enablement, performance coaching, and platform innovation. He has a proven track record of advising on business growth strategies, best practices, and enhancing the efficiency and scalability of enterprise wealth management firms. Before joining Modera Wealth Management in 2025, he held leadership positions at Dimensional Fund Advisors (DFA) and various fee-based Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs), including WealthSource and Choreo. He earned a Bachelor of Science in marketing from the University of Delaware and holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional designation.
Jeff resides in Charlotte, NC with his wife and son. In his free time, he enjoys exercising, listening to vinyl, traveling, and supporting local restaurants and breweries
What sparked your interest in financial planning? What fuels you every day in your work?
My dad was an advisor for 45 years and often spoke of investments, insurance, and group benefit plans. He loved finding solutions for his clients, helping them gain financial clarity and confidence. I was surprised to learn that he, himself, did not have a financial plan, and he passed away without a will or estate plan in place. Helping my stepmom navigate probate was a real wake-up call and further confirmed for me that financial planning and comprehensive wealth management are paramount.
That experience helped mold me into the person I am today. But in terms of what drives me, it’s a desire to learn new things and challenge myself to do better each day.
What do you feel is a strength that you have?
I am really good at getting a sunburn, and I have an encyclopedic knowledge of movies.
What do you enjoy most about working at Modera?
The culture. The people at Modera are genuinely kind and incredibly authentic, a rare combination in our industry. This is a company that puts employees and clients first.
When you retire you’re going to…?
Travel and eat all of the pizza.
