What’s a particularly rewarding example of how you helped to create impact for a client?

A long-term client was tragically facing a terminal cancer diagnosis a few years ago. As we helped prepare her finances for her estate, she thanked our team for helping her feel secure knowing that her family would have us there to help guide them financially after she passed. She said that security gave her more comfort to enjoy her remaining days with her family, which is as rewarding of a compliment of our team’s work as I can imagine.

How do you do good in your community?

As my wife’s and my career have advanced, we have enjoyed scaling up our charitable gifts so that our community benefits alongside us. Our relationship with the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina has given us a great way to help facilitate those growing gifts and to learn about the outstanding work that local non-profits do throughout the area.

When you retire you’re going to…?

Since I’m only in my 30s I imagine retirement will involve occasional vacations to the moon and collecting flying cars…? Or hopefully if I stick to my own advice I can retire early before all of that happens and I can just work on my abysmal golf game.

Where did you grow up?

I was born in Asheville, and I like to think that I am still growing by learning and improving myself each day, so you could say that I am still growing up in Asheville!
