What do you value most in your client relationships?

I find that a highly-collaborative relationship with a client is most valuable. Since we must first earn the trust of our clients in order to have the opportunity to help them make great financial decisions, the collaborative process allows that mutual trust to grow and be constantly reaffirmed.

What sparked your interest in financial planning? What fuels you every day in your work?

I first became interested in financial planning when I needed to make 401k elections for my first job after graduation. Diving into the research of mutual funds and reading many of the classic books on investing quickly transformed my hobby into a passion for finance, which led me to pursue my MBA from The Wharton School. The continuous pursuit of improvement (for our clients, for our firm, for my colleagues, for myself) is what fuels me every day in my work.

What do you enjoy most about working at Modera?

The best part about working at Modera is that I get to help in trying to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients. With adherence to the highest of fiduciary standards in the industry, I strive daily to help our clients make good financial decisions that help them achieve their personal goals. The shared sense of client focus and continuous improvement are what make working at Modera most enjoyable.

Where did you grow up? Where do you live now?

I grew up in northeast Pennsylvania, then moved to the Philadelphia area in 1996. I met my wife in the Lehigh Valley where she grew up, and today we live in Old City Philadelphia with our two children.
